News Corp. stays in Afghanistan
News Corp. Monday mentioned it may need a minority stake in Moby, a media company located in Dubai and active in Central Asia, mainly Afghanistan, as well as the Middle East. Transaction requires News Corp. to guide its 50% of Broadcast Middle East (BME), a Farsi-language TV partnership with Moby, and offer unspecified fresh cash for Moby to develop. BME will finish up a wholly possessed subsid of Moby. Through BME, News Corp. and Moby have launched two Farsi-language channels, FARSI1 and Zemzemeh. Company mentioned the sale might help Moby strengthen its leadership position within the regions and expand in new and emerging areas.
